Mr. Jain is deeply committed to Sienna’s mandate to help residents, our nation’s seniors, live fully, every day. This deep conviction guides Nitin’s approach to leading Sienna.
Nitin Jain is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sienna Senior Living, where he is guided by his conviction that 15,000 team members have the privilege of serving 13,000 seniors in Canada each day. With 100+ high-quality assets and a presence in Ontario, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Alberta, Sienna is one of Canada’s leading operators in the seniors’ living sector. With a focus on supporting Sienna’s team members who care for residents, the Sienna Ownership and Rewards (SOAR) program, a first in the sector, was created, granting team members shares in the company and promoting an ownership culture. Prior to becoming President and CEO in June 2020, he served as Sienna’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Investment Officer for six years, overseeing more than $ 2.0 billion in new investments in both roles. He has also held senior leadership roles at Canadian Tire and General Electric before joining Sienna.
Nitin’s global career experience began as an operational leader in the hotel and hospitality sector, where he rebuilt large and diverse teams, led strategic changes and positioned business units for long-term success. He has proven an exceptional ability to turn around organizations in crisis, align business goals with a purpose-driven culture, and cultivate relationships that bridge a wide range of stakeholders’ interests under a common goal. These defining features of his career have consistently delivered organizational resilience and growth.
Nitin serves on the Board of Trustees for SickKids and was previously a member of the Advisory Board to Schulich’s Krembil Centre for Health Management and Leadership at York University.
He is a graduate of the Director Education Program at Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and has earned his Institute of Corporate Director designation (ICD.D). Nitin holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and obtained his undergraduate degree in Hotel and Hospitality Management from Widener University and the Indian Institute of Hotel Management.
